We upgraded from a $500 paint sensor to a commercial spectrophotometer / densitometer, which matches the color of your window sill to an exact Sherwin-Williams color. Most homeowners inherit an unknown landscape of paint colors, with no way to tell what color is on their existing window trim. Our spectrophotometer takes out the guesswork and produces a great match. This is important, because plantation shutters look best when they are painted to closely match the surrounding window sill or trim.

The only way to build properly fitting shutters is by starting with accurate measurements. We don't rely on a physical measuring tape or even a consumer grade red-laser measurer. We use Leica's green-laser Swiss technology for guaranteed measurement accuracy up to 1.5 mm, which ensures reliable and precise results. We custom build every shutter to the dimensions of each window. Good measurements produce tight-fitting shutters that minimize gaps when viewed from outside your home.

We avoid the typical 8 - 10 week delivery time by building every single shutter right here in Houston. This is made possible by local manufacturing, which minimizes delay by removing reliance on third-party or overseas suppliers. Other shutter providers would call a 4 to 6 week turnaround "expedited". We call it standard. One additional benefit of local production is that if there are any issues or errors with your order, they can be quickly corrected, often expedited within a 2 week turnaround.

At HTX Shutters, in-home consultations can be scheduled for both evenings and weekends. Just let us know when you’re free, and we’ll be there. We only resort to “arrival windows” for installations, which we limit to 3 hour time slots. We arrive on schedule and we always respect your time, since we know that it is valuable.
